I write about legacy – about where I’m from and who I am. About being pushed from one identity to the other, looking for myself on both sides, enduring the nightmare of belonging.

I write about relationships – about my memories of happiness and my memories of heartbreak. About falling deeply in love, breaking apart, crash landing.

I write about death – about the seeking of solace. About the mania that ensues, the need for relief, the plea for understanding.

I am a student – someone looking for answers.
I am a teacher – a guide in the journey.

I’m learning that my question is about origins, not endings.
I’m learning that my answers are more questions, not solutions.
I’m learning that my purpose is to listen, not to instruct.

I write about legacy – about my contribution to the conversation. About what I want to be remembered for, about what I want to make amends for.

I write about relationships – about a community I’m a part of. About relating deeply, bearing witness, sky flying.

I write about origins – about the new paths. About the joy of a fresh start, the want to know others, not needed to understand, just to be with.
